“Quite frankly, families are spending far too much time and money in our courts. Those families, who because of delay become more entrenched, more vulnerable and more stressed while they remain in our court.”

Honourable Chief Judge Will Alstergren

parenting plan Mediation

Parenting Plan Mediation provides a safe and structured space for parents to work through disagreements about their children’s care, routines, and living arrangements after separation. Through a confidential and voluntary process, a neutral mediator helps families communicate effectively and reach practical, lasting agreements that focus on the best interests of the children without involving the courts.

Commonly Asked Questions

What’s so good about parenting plans?

In the context of family law mediation, parenting plans are great for 2 reasons. They create an agreement, but more importantly, they show a preparedness of you and your ex-partner to talk and agree on the things that matter most, your children.

What’s so bad about parenting plans?

“Bad” is probably not the right word to use. If you and your ex-partner have negotiated a parenting plan, that’s great! But, where things can become a little problematic is when circumstances change, or the relationship between you and your ex goes downhill and one or both of you contravene or breach terms within that agreement. If this occurs, a follow-up mediation session would be beneficial.

How can Measured Mediation & Professional Services help me?

If there is a willingness to negotiate and agree on parenting and care arrangements about your children, you’re three-quarters of the way there! Congratulations! When there is this willingness you can also leverage it to work through any other issues that may be in dispute, following the execution of the court-endorsed consent orders. Our Nationally Accredited Mediators will work with you and your ex-partner to reach an agreement that you’re both happy with.
